Books Books Books

So things are going really well here. I've got the job at Barnes and Noble which I really like, the only drawback is the 14 hour days I have to put in between the two jobs, but it'll only be for the season, so if anyone wants books let me know now before it's too late. I'm kinda hoping they'll keep me, if they'd be willing to only schedule me 1 day a week. I just want to keep the job for the discount, most of my paychecks from there will be staying there anyway. But seriously, I get a 30% discount all the time and in a couple of weeks I'll get 40% for a week, (that's when I'll be doing most of my Christmas shopping) so just let me know if you need anything.

So Kevin and I got the $8000 for being first time home buyers and we paid off his school and my car!! So hooray!!! We own both of our cars now. I feel so proud.
Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone!!! Have a fantastic day!!!!

Same old, same old

So I'm finally getting around to writing another entry in my blog. Takes me long enough right? Anyway, things have been going fairly well around here. The shower is getting close to being finished, (we might be able to start tiling next week!!!!). There isn't really anything new going on. We just do all the same old stuff just about every day. Kevin still likes his job in Salt lake, but the graveyard shift is starting to get to him as well as the commute. So starting in December, if he doesn't have another offer by then, he'll be working in the Ogden Courts as the constable. He'll work Monday-Friday 8-5 which will be so nice because I'll actually get a chance to spend some time with him. That is if I don't get this job at Barnes and Noble. That's right, I applied at Barnes and Noble for the holiday season. I had the interview today and I thought it went well, until he told me that there were over 200 applicants and they are interviewing all of them and only 8 positions. Brian, the interviewer, said I did well, but I can never tell if they really mean it or if it's just what they tell everyone!!! So, hopefully I get it, if not then oh well. It's just something to keep me busy so I won't be too hurt if I don't get it.
But life is pretty good. I can't complain about anything other than never getting to see Kevin, but we do what we have to do to get things done and that's all you can do. Well, I'm off to watch an episode of Monk and the new series White Collar!!!

Storm might be over

So Kevin got a job, thanks to Joe. He starts on Monday. I can't wait until we have a steady two paychecks coming in again. We definitely can't make it off of what I make alone. I'm just glad that the city paid him his vacation so that we'd have enough to get by until he could find a job. We don't know exactly what his position is yet, but we'll find out soon enough. We also don't know how much he'll be getting paid, but anything is better than nothing and we know the lowest is could be so we're hoping it might be a little more, but if not, we can still get by.
God is really watching out for us. Thanks for everyone help and support. It would've been much more difficult without you guys!!

Storm's a comin......

You know the old saying that bad things come in three's?? Or even the saying when it rains it pours? Well I'm really not looking forward to it. So far we're two for three and I can feel the storm coming.

First Kevin loses his job, (ok I've come to grips with it now), but then today Miya decided to eat some liquid bug killer that she knocked over and we had to take her to the emergency vet clinic. She's there right now while we're paying about $450.00 for it. With Kevin losing his job I've become one of those penny pinchers so it was really hard to pay for it, but at the same time I don't want Miya to die and yes, I am more worried about her than the money, but I hate it. I'm so not looking forward to seeing what the third bad thing to happen to us will be. I just have this feeling that Kevin is going to end up cutting off a finger or something. Admit it, you can see it happening. I just pray that the lord will help us through this difficult time. And thanks to everyone for all of their support and concern. You guys are great.

Home is a project...

There needs to be a sign that says not Home Sweet Home, but Home is a work in progress, (or something to that effect). I feel like I have so many plans and things to work on that they'll never get done. We'll start one thing and then before we finish it we're working on something else and the original project just sits there half finished, like my kitchen. I painted half of it and then got so busy doing everything else that I just haven't taken the time to finish it. That and I just don't want to. But I did get my lamppost and front door painted today!!! GO ME!!! I was motivated for a couple of hours there, but it died down. Now I think I'm going to go to Barnes and Noble to wind down a little and browse some books. I have a coupon and I really want to use it, I just don't know what I want to get yet...

Long time....

Obviously it's been a while since I've done anything on my blog. I wish I could have, but it's a little difficult without internet. But I really don't mind not having the internet, Kevin actually spends more time with me than he does on the computer, which has been nice.
Anyway, everyone already knows this, but we've got our house. (See pictures in earlier post). As soon as I get the internet at my house I'll post more pics.
I love being a homeowner. There's a lot of work to put into an unfinished 1959 year old house, but I would never go back. We have the majority of the master shower torn out, (it had a leak and couldn't be fixed without demolition) and my closet is half finished. I'm putting shelves in it instead of just a hanger bar. I don't have any clothes that I hang up. So shelves it is. We have a lot of other projects and hopefully we can recruit some help because Kevin and I don't always know exactly what we're doing. So everyone be waiting for a phone call one of these weeks.
All in all, we're having a good ole' time.

I'll try to keep this up to date, but I can't make any promises. I don't know when I'll get a chance to do it again with being so busy. TTFN!!!

Girls Day Out!!

Last weekend Briana and I took the girls out to the park to take pictures. I had them pose for some of them but others were just taken as they were playing. All look really cute. We had a blast. They didn't want to leave, but then again, when will they ever willingly leave the park. Kids will be kids right?

House Hunting!!!

So Keivn and I decided that we couldn't wait to buy a house anymore. So we started house hunting and we've found a few houses that we like.
We haven't made any decision yet, but I thought
I'd post the one that we like the most on my blog. We haven't decided what we want to do yet so
when we do decide I'll make a post saying

"WE GOT A HOUSE!!!" But tell me what you think. of this one.

Merry Christmas!!!

Obviously it's been a while since I've written anything on my blog and to tell you the truth I actually forgot my password. I never forget passwords. I'm going crazy I swear!!

Well, Christmas is just about here and I'm so excited to give Kevin his presents. Even though he's ruined all of them, I know how bad he wants them :) He got a new RC car that he's been trying to get me to let him open it. His excuse, "i just want to make sure it has all the parts." I just laughed at him, poor guy. He'll get over it in about 2 more days.

I can't believe that this is already our second Christmas together. (Since we've been married at least). Time does go by so quickly. Little John and Little Kenny are already over a year old and my brother's son, Kaiden, will be a year in January. It's crazy!!

I'm looking forward to having my own kids, but for now I'm really enjoying playing with everyone else's. I know I'm terrible, what can I say. I don't want the responsibility yet, but I'm looking forward to it. In Nathan's last letter to his family he said that he wanted either Carol or myself to be pregnant with a niece for him. I doubt that we can make any promises, in fact I know I can't. Kevin has said that he doesn't want to start having kids until Nathan gets home. He wants Nathan to be there as they grow up. I'm all for it. It just means that I get more time with Kevin before we start having kids.

Kevin and I are going to start looking at houses next year. I'm getting sick of renting, but I love my neighbors, (Hey Jessie and Kenny... and little Kenny). I just want to be able to paint some walls and fix something up a little. I want to make a place feel like home to me.

Anyway, this is starting to get a little long so I'll say MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone. To my family in Idaho, to my family in Texas and American Fork, My mom in California, and to my dad, sister, brother and Kevin's family that lives close by. Have a wonderful Christmas. I love you all!!!

(As Nathan would say....at least we didn't get shot in the face today. So you know it's been a good day).

Update...

I thought I'd take a minute to update everyone about what's going on with Kevin and me.
I am still working at the bank as a teller. I still love my job, (not so much my boss, but I can't complain, she's pretty good most of the time). I'm still doing cakes, I'll be taking a little break from them after this month is over, (if you've never seen any of my pictures I've posted some of them online on a separate blog- there's a link to it on the list of blogs I'm following). Most of my spare time is spent at home, (watching NCIS. I love the show).
Kevin is doing great. He just started full time as a police officer. He loves his job. Whenever I ask him how his day went he smiles like he's having the best time of his life. :) He likes to pull people over and give tickets!! As terrible as that sounds, he was told he was being too nice as a cop and needed to be tougher. So he's really not bad..... promise. He's almost done with school and graduates from the academy on December 10th. He's ready to be done with it so he can put all of his effort into training at work. Oh, and he looks really HOT in his uniform, but I might be a little biased.
Well, that's about everything that's going on. Everything is going great and I'm loving life.
I'll make another entry if anything else changes.

First Post!!!

So......... blogs.......hmmm. I think its kinda cool. I've never had one and I think I like it :) lol.

I've created this blog, (with a little help from Jessie, 'Thanks Jessie') so I can put my cake portfoloio online and so my family that lives out of state knows what I'm up to. "Hello" family out of state, (in state too).
